Kajun Chicken & Seafood- Waterloo

You. Do you know what it feels like when all your limbs fall off from the overwhelming cold? I do. Well, I would, had I not found this place. Originally I was searching for a nearby KFC, but I was blinded, freezing, my will to live, and ability to even do so, wearing thin. This feeling of helplessness and the pain eating away at me was enough to bring a thousand men to their knees. The wind was howling. My vision blurry... …I had accepted my fate. But then… like a lighthouse in the fog beckoning a lost sailor to land, I noticed this place. Call me Kinji Hakari because I took a gamble… and hit the jackpot. The man working was very friendly and I ordered a 4 piece bone-in combo, foolishly assuming the portions would be modest. Oh how wrong I was. These pieces looked like they were harvested from chickens genetically engineering to make them bigger. I could not finish my meal and had to take the rest of my food home. (On the bright side, I got to stuff my face when I got home…) And the taste? I’m not sure what kind of sorcery they’re running back there, but the first bite of my food restored circulation to my body. Drinking from the fountain of youth would do less for me than Kajun’s chicken had done for me in that single moment. Crispy skin… yet juicy, tender, mouthwatering meat… If all the world leaders sat down and ate here, we would achieve world piece. But I wouldn’t want that lowkey because this place is so niche… my niche place… not everyone can live the niche life… Overall, 10/10! Would come again.

I haven’t had fried chicken in years and this didn’t disappoint. The chicken was so crispy, juicy and moist. The spicy chicken could have been a little spicier but the flavour was fantastic. The biscuit was the cherry on top.

If you’re looking for fried chicken in KW, you ll find various options but trust me the best is Kajun Chicken. Delicious food. Although it’s fried it’s not greasy. I found it very soft - soft enough for the baby to chew easily. It’s not beady or crumbly. It is literally juicy. We ordered mild chicken tenders and I’m definitely coming here again! If you have a sensitive stomach that doesn’t take fried chicken well; try this one you won’t regret. Not to mention; at Kajun Chicken you are greeted with professional smile and staff that is humble. We were served by Zuhair - a gentleman who knows how to win a customer for life! He went above & beyond when he noticed we have a baby we are looking to feed! Definitely a go-to-place when you want to dine in or grab a quick sandwich!
